Well done to group leaders Phil and Margaret for organising today's preparation day to make sure we give the children we are taking to Lourdes this year the best possible holiday.
Thursday, March 25, 1858: The Lady finally reveals her name
Sixteenth appearance. The vision finally reveals her name, but the rose (or rose hips) on which she sets her feet during the Apparitions does not bloom. Bernadette recounts: "She raised her eyes to heaven, joining as a sign of prayer her hands, which were stretched and open to the earth, and said to me: 'I am the immaculate conception.'" Bernadette runs away and repeats these words incessantly on the way, words she does not understand.

Thursday 4 March 1858: Eight thousand people at the Grotto
Fifteenth appearance. The ever-increasing crowd (about eight thousand people) awaits a miracle at the end of this fortnight. The vision is silent. For the next three weeks Bernadette was no longer going to the Grotto; she no longer felt the irresistible attraction.

Wednesday 3 March 1858: The smile of the Lady
Fourteenth apparition. At seven in the morning, in the presence of three thousand people, Bernadette went to the Grotto, but the vision did not appear! After school, she hears the inner invitation of the Lady. She goes to the Grotto and asks for her name. The answer is a smile. Father Peyramale repeated to her: "If the Lady truly desires a chapel, let her give her name and make the rose of the Grotto bloom."

Tuesday 2 March 1858: The message to priests
Thirteenth appearance. The crowd grew more and more. The Lady asks her: "Go and tell the priests to come here in procession and to build a chapel there." Bernadette spoke to Father Peyramale, the parish priest of Lourdes. The latter only wants to know one thing: the name of the Lady.

Monday 1st March 1858: the First miracle of Lourdes
Twelfth appearance. More than 1,500 people are gathered and among them, for the first time, a priest. In the night, Catherine Latapie , a friend Lourdais, went to the Grotto, she dipped her dislocated arm in the spring water: her arm and her hand were healed.
