Steve Collis

It was with great sadness that we learned of Steve's death last night, following a long illness.

Steve first travelled to Lourdes as a sponsored child with 101 and then as a helper. He loved Group 101 and he loved travelling to Lourdes. His sessions were always very prayerful and reflective and he contributed greatly to the music in the group.

He will be missed by everyone in Group 101 and our thoughts and prayers are with Mary and the rest of Steve's family.

Easter week and school holidays

In many places next year, school holidays at the end of spring term do not coincide with the HCPT Lourdes pilgrimage. This could affect some people wanting to travel. HCPT HQ have said that they are willing to provide letters explaining the situation to hopefully enable more people to get the necessary time off.

Fortunately, this will not happen again for several years as Easter will fall on an earlier date.

More information will be posted as we have it.

Nominate HCPT Group 101 as Sainsbury's local charity

Sainsbury's store on Thorne Road, Doncaster, have got leaflets inviting members of the public to nominate a local charity.

Last year the nominated charity received over £6000!

Please find time to go to the store and nominate HCPT Group 101. This would be a real boost to our fundraising efforts!

Start baking!

Last weeks group meeting was very positive and all helpers were determined to get to Lourdes in 2011 and beyond.

Hopefully we will travel by train (with sleeper carriages) and the pilgrimage will last from Sunday to Saturday and it looks like being a much larger group than this year.

There were some great ideas for fundraising suggested at the meeting and some dates have now been arranged.

Group 101 will have a cake stall at the following events:

27th June - Bentley Bonanza

3rd July - Tickhill Gala

10th July - Finningley Fun Day

24th July - Bessacarr Primary School

If you can help on the day or provide us with some home made cakes to sell, your contribution will be greatly appreciated!

Special thanks to Tickhill Lions

Many thanks to Tickhill Lions who have once again supported HCPT Doncaster group 101 to help local children. A donation of £1,500 will really help our efforts to raise funds for the 2011 trip.

Without this support, HCPT and the week in Lourdes would not exist, so thanks go to Tickhill Lions on behalf of all the helpers and children of 101.
